Many international students are worried about making friends and the best way to combat this is to take advantage of university societies. This is important for international students as it provides you with a solid forum for meeting people with your interests. The sooner you make friends, the sooner you’ll begin to feel at home in the UK.
Don’t be afraid to break out of your university campus, town or city and just explore the UK. Take advantage of your time in the UK to examine our history by visiting our great landmarks-Shakespeare’s birthplace of Stratford-upon Avon to the marvel of Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland.
The food you can buy in the UK reflects the many ethnic influences in British society. Most supermarkets sell ingredients from Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, as well as food from many other parts of the world. The British are increasingly healthy eaters and there is a very wide range of organic produce available in shops and supermarkets.
“There were many small steps that I had to think about before and during the applications. Whether it is what schools you want to apply to? Do I need a consultant? Do I even stand a chance at cracking a school of my choice? What experiences should I highlight in the essays?”
“When you see someone from a similar background achieve a major milestone, it makes you feel like it's achievable. Ever since, I got into Harvard, I have seen how my college and work peers and juniors have change their perspective. Now even they feel encouraged to apply.”
“Cultural fit and recruitability played a major role in my college selection process. Connecting with alumni from the schools, helped me understand cultural fit better.”
I am grateful to EduPeer for helping me through my application process. Applications can be very daunting and it was great to have the team by my side to help navigate the system and demystify the process. The editors on the team helped me craft a great story for my application and their inputs on my whole application were very useful. They maintained a great balance between bouncing off ideas and brainstorming when required and steering and closing discussion when it was time to do so.
I am very grateful to the EduPeer team for their guidance and support in my journey of applying to colleges in India and abroad. They inspired me to follow my passion and work towards it in my extracurriculars while maintaining my academic performance. Their mentors have an excellent understanding of what colleges look for and help you build your application around it. If you are confused, they help you find your path.

EduPeer was instrumental presence in my college application process. Their peer to peer mentoring system put me in touch with students from colleges I was applying to. This helped me a lot to calm my nerves. I can’t recommend Edupeer’s innovative platform enough.
